Few days ago a new template premiered in the Cut Cute Crafts shops. So excited with this one! Its a new key ring wallet with one with zipper and one snap button pockets. Super handy and fits a lot!
I made it from two kinds of cork fabric and faux leather. Apparently, to my surprise, the cork and the hot glue loved each other. The whole sandwich turned out quite strong and sturdy. If you wonder why the surprise, here’s my short observation over glue and faux leather.
If one prefers to add a few seams to make it even stronger, it’s all calculated and there is a 1/4 in seam allowance included.
Both the cork and the faux leather cut easily with standard fine point blade and I had minor issues only with the thinner cork fabric I used for the lining, the dark one. Some particles chipped out of the cork surface, but it was unnoticeable.
The metal snap button is from a box set bought of from Amazon, but the tools that came with the set required hammering and I preferred not to shatter the glass mat, so I used my Prym button setter pliers with the appropriate attachments. It worked even though the attachments were for different size buttons.
You can see it all in the video here.
Of course the wallet can be made of any fabric that doesn’t require edge finishing like felt, faux leather, real leather etc. A point of caution would be to watch for a strong backing or weave, so the snap button doesn’t pop out 🙂
I’m so looking forward to see your wallets! Let me know if you have any questions.
Happy crafting, everyone!
